We are proud to share insights from NMMC’s cutting-edge Central Laboratory of Gamma Activation Analysis (CLGAA) at the Muruntau mine. Our lab leads in rapid, high-volume analysis of geological samples to detect precious and rare metals.
Using gamma radiation, we accurately determine gold content in rocks and ores without altering the sample material unlike other methods. Our productivity has increased by 3.5 times, from 620,000 to 2 million analyses per year! As of May 2024, we have analysed over 30 million samples since the lab's opening in 1977. This year, we aim for 2.2 million analyses, with each cycle taking just 18 seconds.
No other industrial lab matches our analysis volume, making CLGAA a unique leader in the field.
