New unit was launched at Hydrometallurgical Plant №5

Hydrometallurgical Plant №5, located on the expanses of Kyzylkum, is one of the large industrial enterprises built by Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Company in recent years. At this plant, the company’s specialists carry out practical work to improve the technological process of precious metal processing.

The enterprise processes 5 million tons of sulphide and oxide ore per year. Yesterday, there was launched an experimental-industrial unit for filtration, drying and roasting of products, aimed at increasing the level of gold recovery during ore processing at HMP-5.

The designing of this experimental-industrial unit was carried out by specialists of the Central Design Bureau, and construction and installation work – by builders of the Zarafshan Construction Department of JSC Navoi Mining and Metallurgical  Company. The main equipment of the unit was manufactured at Navoi Machine-Building Plant and at the Central Mechanical Repair Unit of the Central Mining Administration.

It should be noted that there was installed multi-stage air purification equipment to prevent the impact of gases and dust generated during the roasting process on the environment. The experimental-industrial unit, implemented in the plant’s technological process, will significantly increase the extraction of gold from ore.
