A solid foundation for the future

Promising investment projects are being implemented as part of the program for the development of Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Company until 2026 and the increase in the production of precious metals.

Today, the industrial area of Zarafshan resembles a huge construction site. New enterprises are being built here, existing ones are being modernized and equipped with modern equipment and technologies. The work carried out in the railway transport system deserves special attention. It is worth noting the special role of railway transport in the production activities of the company. At the moment, the enterprise transports more than 60 million tons of various cargoes by rail. Most of these works are carried out by the Department of railway transport of Central mining administration of JSC NMMC.  In order to increase production, special attention is paid to the construction of new railways, the reconstruction of existing lines, the modernization of freight and passenger transport.

Last year after putting into operation of Hydrometallurgical plant №5, the task of uninterrupted supply of the enterprise with ore was put on the agenda. The plant was supposed to transport ore from the newly developed Turbay deposit and required the construction of an additional railway. For this, the management of the company and specialists of the sphere worked out in detail four options for laying the railway. From the point of view of achieving economic efficiency, a conclusion was made about the feasibility of building the railway "Turbay – Plant station – HMP-5".

Today, within the framework of investment projects of JSC NMMC, the construction of the railway line "Turbay – Plant station" with a length of more than 52 kilometers is being carried out at a rapid pace. During the construction of this facility, which will allow transporting 2 million tons of ore to Hydrometallurgical plant №5 and creating about 50 new jobs, Zarafshan construction department and the Department of railway transport are involved. The important project is scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of next year. The construction of the railway line began in August of this year.

It should be noted that with the construction of the railway line "Turbay – Plant station" a solid foundation will be created for increasing the production of precious metals.
