On July 2, 1991, there was began mining operations at the Kokpatas gold deposit in Northern mining administration of "NMMC" JSC. The mine, located in Uchkuduk district, produces 4 million tons of sulphide ore per year. The mined ore is processed at Hydrometallurgical plant-3.
