The resources of the mine are estimated at more than 150 million ounces. Muruntau is likely to retain the title of the world’s largest gold mine in the near future.

Today the length of Muruntau quarry is 4.3 km, width - 3.2 km, depth - about 650 meters. Currently, more than 42 million tons of ore are mined from the mine per year. More than 2.6 thousand employees work here. Today the mine is recognized by geologists as the largest in terms of gold reserves, its reserves are estimated at more than 4.5 thousand tons. The V-stage of quarry development in the future will allow mining gold at a depth of up to 1 050 meters and increase the production volume to 50 million tons of ore.
