On the fourth day of the Republican media forum on the topic "National journalism: continuity of traditions and modernity", organized by the Creative Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan in cooperation with "Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Company" Joint-Stock Company, press tours were held for the participants to Hydrometallurgical plant-7 and the Muruntau mine in Central mining administration.
During press tours, media representatives and journalists got acquainted with the large-scale work carried at Hydrometallurgical plant-7, which uses modern technologies, and at the Muruntau mine to increase the volume of ore extraction.
In particular, Hydrometallurgical plant-7, launched in 2021, is the world's largest industrial waste processing plant. At HMP-7, on the basis of modern technologies, products are obtained from processed (technogenic) ores. The difference between the plant and other hydrometallurgical plants of NMMC is that, thanks to the technologies used here, it is possible to process and obtain products from processed ore. The plant can process 15 million tons of industrial waste per year.
Today the length of the quarry is 4.3 km, width - 3.2 km, depth - about 650 meters. Currently, more than 42 million tons of ore are mined from the quarry per year. Today the mine is recognized by geologists as the largest in terms of gold reserves, its reserves are estimated at more than 4.5 thousand tons.
Heads and specialists of Central mining administration, the plant and the mine answered the questions of the media representatives and journalists in detail.
