Interesting facts from the history of NMMC

On March 1, 1967, the first bulk blast was effected in Muruntau open pit, the development of Muruntau deposit was started by open-pit method. In1967, the construction of Hydrometallurgical plant-2 was started. As a result of the work of miners and metallurgists, on July 21, 1969, a historic event took place – there was obtained the first gold bar from the ore mined at the Muruntau mine, weighing 11 kilograms 820 grams at HMP-2. Kyzylkum has become the largest gold mining region in Uzbekistan. Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Company entered the top ten largest gold producers in the world. Since 1971, the plant began to receive fine gold with a fineness of "999.9". In September 1975, there was launched a finished product unit at the plant, that is, a gold refining unit.
