On October 31th, 2023, there was held a press tour and a press conference for representatives of the media and journalists at Navoi Machine-Building Plant of JSC NMMC dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the formation of Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Company and the 60th anniversary of the formation of Navoi Machine-Building Plant.
During the press tour, media representatives and journalists visited the largest units of the plant, got acquainted in detail with the work processes carried out at the enterprise and practical work to increase production capacity, and talked with employees.
As noted, today this plant occupies a leading position in Uzbekistan in the production of localized and import-substituting products. Currently, 3.5 thousand engineers, metallurgists, mechanics, designers and representatives of other professions work selflessly at the enterprise.
Navoi Machine-Building Plant produces more than 15 thousand types of high-quality products, including metal and woodworking machines, parts for heavy-duty mining equipment. 97 percent of the spare parts, equipment and consumables needed by Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Company are manufactured at the plant.
In 2023, as part of increasing the production capacity of the plant, the project “Technical and technological re-equipment of the Mechanical Assembly Unit” was implemented. For this project, a new unit’s building was built and modern high-performance machines were launched. The launch of the new unit made it possible to manufacture and repair mills weighing up to 980 tons, as well as crushing equipment, pumps, condensers, large-sized equipment weighing up to 400 tons.
At the same time, in order to increase the volume of output, a modern metal smelting furnace with a capacity of 25 tons was put into operation in the foundry unit of the plant. This furnace will increase metal smelting productivity by 30 percent per year.
