Сhalk is widely used in the technological processes used at the hydrometallurgical plants of Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Company to extract gold from ore.
As a result of exploration work carried out by the company's geologists, a chalk-stone deposit was discovered in the eastern part of the Muruntau mine. The development of the reserves of this deposit will make it possible to provide the needs of hydrometallurgical plants for chalk. For this, it is planned to build two crushing and screening complexes. As part of this project, a 2.5-kilometer railway line was built to transport chalk-stone. Also construction, installation and commissioning of the crushing and screening complex №1 has been completed.
On the eve of the Day of mining and metallurgical industry employees of the Republic of Uzbekistan, this facility was launched at the Muruntau chalk-stone deposit. The management of JSC NMMC and specialists of the Central Mining Administration participated at the event.
After the full implementation of this project, 490 thousand cubic meters of chalk-stone per year will be mined at the deposit. In the future, the quarry will be 980 meters long, 530 meters wide and 90 meters deep. Excavators, heavy dump trucks, a drilling rig and other types of modern mining equipment are used to extract chalk-stone.
It should be noted that the implementation of this project will serve to provide hydrometallurgical plants of the company with chalk-stone.
