Cooperation between the company and the university
Specialists of JSCNavoi Mining and Metallurgical company together with scientists from the Navoi State Mining and Technology University are implementing a number of alternative energy projects.
In particular, according to the economic agreement concluded between the company and the department of "Electric power engineering" of the university, in 2021-2022, work was carried out to assemble and install a hybrid version of a wind farm and solar panels – solar-wind mini-stations. With the involvement of students, solar panels were assembled in the Technopark of the university, and a set of solar panels and a wind generator were installed on the territory of the university, which are currently used as laboratory equipment.
One of the problems with solar panels is determining the quality of the electricity produced by these panels. At the moment, this problem is solved with the help of several devices. Scientists of the department of "Electric power engineering" are working on the creation of a special sensor to check the quality of the current with one device.
One of the important issues in the use of solar panels is the problem of energy backup. If you pay attention to the price of solar panels brought to Uzbekistan, the price of the battery is almost equal to the cost of the panel. That is, the accumulation of solar energy is becoming more expensive. Therefore, another scientific project – the improvement and localization of lithium-ion batteries is being implemented.
NMMC specialists and university scientists have created an innovative plant for converting underground seepage water into clean drinking water using solar energy. A new type of device is installed on the campus of the university and extracts seepage water from a 60-meter underground well and supplies 70 cubic decimeters of clean water per hour.
