The first mining encyclopedia was translated into Uzbek and published

Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Company publishes scientific and popular science books on the subject of mining.

Recently, the work “On Mining and Metallurgy in Twelve Books” by the famous German scientist, mineralogist, metallurgist, physician and philosopher Georgy Agricola, who lived in 1494-1555, was published. It was translated by the specialists of the compamy into Uzbek from the publication in Russian. This work is the first mining encyclopedia.

Despite the fact that this work of a German scientist was written five centuries ago, it testifies to the deep knowledge of the author in this area. Several generations of miners learned the basics of mining on the basis of this book.

It is worth noting that G. Agricola deeply studied the processes of leaching of metals and minerals, at that time, without knowing it, he discovered the biological oxidation of sulfide minerals.

The purpose of translating this work into Uzbek is to create more opportunities for young people, students, engineers, researchers and anyone interested in the history of metallurgy to get acquainted with unique information.
