The railway transport has a great importance in the timely and uninterrupted delivery of goldore extracted from mines to hydrometallurgical plants for processing in JSCNavoi Mining and Metallurgical Company.
To date, the company operates 52 locomotives, 818 wagons and other railway equipment, as well as 379 km of railway. In particular, in 2022, more than 71 million tons of ore and 609 thousand passengers were transported by railway.
In NMMC, the main part of the work on the transportation of cargo and passengers by railway is carried out by the Department of Railway Transport of the Central Mining Administration, which employs more than 1.6 thousand people. In order to increase production, special attention is paid to the construction of new railways, the reconstruction of existing lines, and the modernization of freight and passenger transport.
On February 13, the fleet of the Department of Railway Transport was updated with 4 new high-performance locomotives. Modern locomotives manufactured by Transmashholding arrived at the Yangi Zarafshon railway station.
As experts in the field noted, these locomotives fully meet the requirements due to the availability of repairs, good fuel and economic indicators, reliability and long-term operation, the presence of a driver’s vigilance system, as well as technical parameters that are optimally suited to local conditions.
Such work, aimed at strengthening the material and technical base of the enterprise and updating the fleet of vehicles, serves to increase the production of precious metals.
