The first explosion took place at the Pistali deposit

Large and strategically important investment projects for 2022-2026 are being implemented step by step as part of the Investment program of Joint Stock Company Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Company.

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in his Address to the Oliy Majlis and the people of Uzbekistan spoke about large programs in the field of metallurgy and set the task of increasing copper production by 3 times and gold up to 150 tons per year in five years. In the Address, among the major projects in this area, it was noted that the construction of a complex for processing gold ores based on the Pistali deposit will be completed in 2023.

On January 6, 2023, the first explosion took place at the Pistali deposit, located on the territory of Nurata district of Navoi region.  

The implementation of this project worth $274.7 million will allow further processing of 4 million tons of ore per year. In the near future, it is planned to extract more than 40 million tons of ore at the Pistali deposit. Exploration work is also ongoing to further expand the deposit.
