Press conference was held on the implementation of the localization program

On December 20, 2022, there was held the press conference on the topic "Work carried out at the company to implement the localization program, achieved results and plans for the future" at the Navoi machine-building plant.

Consistent implementation of the localization program allows not only to save foreign currency, but also to increase production volumes, attract innovations, capital investments, including foreign direct investment, ultimately create new jobs and provide employment for the population. In 2008-2022 alone, the enterprise mastered about 1,5 thousand new types of products within the framework of more than 160 projects and saved more than $400 million.

The company pays special attention to the implementation of the localization program. In this regard, specific programs and roadmaps have been developed, new types of products are being mastered from year to year, and the geography of cooperative relations is expanding. The production of import-substituting products, components, spare parts, raw materials is being mastered.

For example, in 2022, 167 projects produced localized products worth 550 billion soums. In accordance with the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated January 24, 2022, within the framework of industrial cooperation, products worth 4.8 trillion soums were purchased from local manufacturers. In order to reduce imports by increasing localization, 167 competitive import-substituting projects produced goods worth $47.2 million.

Also, within the framework of this resolution, it is planned to produce products worth $31.3 million for 114 new and expanded projects, and in practice, products worth $32.2 million have been localized. In connection with the expansion of the capacities of Navoi machine-building plant in 2022, the production of ball mills, new types of pumps and new types of equipment was launched. For example, this year, Navoi machine-building plant for the first time produced an import-substituting ball mill with a volume of 163 cubic meters.

In recent years, caustic soda, a conveyor belt, spare parts for a drilling rig, various types of filters and hydraulic oils, and other similar products have been mastered at the facilities of local manufacturers for the industrial needs of the company.

At the initiative of the company, the first in the republic introduced a mechanism to "take in tow" for the development of import-substituting products. At present, noteworthy cooperation has been established with Hydro Stanko Service LLC, Navpromlitmash LLC, Asia Gormash LLC JV, Karmana Sharkona Invest LLC, Latem Metal LLC and other similar enterprises.

As part of the regional fairs held during the year, JSC NMMC signed 2 321 contracts for 2,7 trillion soums, work is underway to develop import-substituting products at local enterprises on the basis of cooperative relations.
