JSC NMMC: results of the II Uzbekistan Economic Forum
On November 3-4, Samarkand city hosted II Uzbekistan Economic Forum, which brought together the world's leading economists and international experts, where the Development Strategy of Uzbekistan, economic opportunities and issues of international cooperation were discussed.
Within the framework of the Forum, there was held the "round table" on the topic "Trade, Connectivity and Industrial Policy", in which the chairman of the Management Board – Director General of the Joint-Stock Company Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Company K. Sanakulov participated. The "round table" participants discussed issues of integration into regional and multilateral trade structures, problems and opportunities of regional interdependence, projects implemented in the mining and metallurgical industry, as well as transformation processes taking place at NMMC.
At this Forum, the management of JSC NMMC, which is one of the five largest gold mining companies in the world, held a number of meetings in order to establish strong relations with business circles and foreign partners, international banks.
In particular, there was given detailed information on the results achieved by JSC NMMC in recent years, digitalization processes and transformation, projects planned for implementation in the industry, at meetings with representatives of such foreign companies and banks as Hitachi Construction Machinery, ThyssenKrupp, Duratray International, Liebherr, Epiroc, Metso-Autotec, JPMorgan Chase Bank, Standard Chartered, Citibank, Raiffeisen Bank, KFW IPEX-Bank, Commerzbank, Credit Suisse, Barclays.
Within the framework of the II Uzbekistan Economic Forum, as a result of negotiations held between the management of the company and representatives of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), JPMorgan Chase Bank, Raiffeisen Bank, KFW IPEX-Bank signed memorandums of cooperation to attract funds in the amount of USD 450 million and EUR 200 million.
It should be noted that the funds raised from foreign banks will be used to finance large and strategically important investment projects of JSC NMMC for 2022-2026.
