The first phase of NMMC digital transformation is being implemented

On October 25, 2022, as part of the development of a digital transformation strategy for the Joint-Stock Company Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Company, there was held an event with the participation of representatives of the international company Boston Consulting Group (BCG), managers and specialists of the mining and technological repartitions of the company in Navoi city.

As noted, the digital transformation of JSC NMMC is being implemented as part of large-scale reform and modernization of key industries in Uzbekistan. It is aimed at improving operational efficiency by optimizing production and auxiliary processes using digital solutions, as well as laying the foundation for the transformation of NMMC into a modern high-tech company with positive long-term prospects. NMMC digital transformation program, which consists of three phases, is designed until the end of 2025. and the preparatory work will take place this year. This year, work is being carried out on the first phase – the development of a digital transformation strategy.

In the first part of the event, representatives of BCG presented an analysis of global trends in the development of digital technologies and the global experience of leading mining companies in the field of digitalization based on practical examples. In particular, it was determined that applied digital solutions are the main element of digitalization, where the largest amount of investments is directed in the digital transformation of business. Thus, the world experience of leading mining companies shows that NMMC can use digitalization to achieve production growth, improve operational efficiency and implement the ESG agenda.

In the second part of the event, representatives of BCG together with the managers and specialists of the company, formed for approval a preliminary list of priority areas for digitalization in key functions of mining and technological repartitions.
