For the first time in the history of the mining industry of Uzbekistan, the depth of the mine reached 1 000 meters
On the eve of the 31st anniversary of the state independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan, on August 24, there was held an event, dedicated to reaching the depth of a mine shaft under construction with skip and cage hoists of 1 000 meters at the industrial site “Zarmitan”in Zarkentvillage of Kushrabat district of Samarkand region.
The chairman of the Management Board – General Director of the Joint-Stock Company Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Company K. Sanakulov, khokim of Kushrabat district D. Shakarboev, heads of the company and Southern mining administration, representatives of the local population and the media participated at the event.
As a result of two years of effective work carried out in cooperation with the Czech company Mine Construction Alliance s.r.o., for the first time not only in the history of the mining industry of Uzbekistan, but also in the history of Central Asia, the depth of the extremely technically complex mine shaft with skip and cage hoists under construction with a diameter of 6.5 meters has reached 1 000 meters.
Currently, work is underway on the next phase of the project. The project is scheduled to be fully completed in March 2023. In the future, this will allow annually delivering 850 thousand tons of gold-bearing ore to the surface, which will be delivered to Hydrometallurgical plant №4 for processing.
At the event, a group of workers who took an active part in the construction work were presented by the administration of JSC NMMC with badges “Miner’s Glory”.
