On August 5, 2022, on the eve of the Day of railway transport workers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, there was put into operation a 35-kilometer railway line connecting the Tamdybulak deposit with Hydrometallurgical plant-2 on the territory of Tamdy district.
The event was attended by Chairman of the Management Board – Director General of JSC Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Company K. Sanakulov, khokim of Tamdyn district K. Aldabergenov, managers and employees of Central mining administration, specialists of the railway sector of the company, representatives of the older generation and the media.
Chairman of the Management Board – Director General of JSC NMMC K. Sanakulov spoke at the event, sincerely congratulated the holders of the honorary profession on the 31st anniversary of the state independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the celebration on the first Sunday of August of the Day of railway transport workers.
Rail transport occupies an important place in the company. As a result of the efforts made over the years, the railway has become the most modern industry. It should be noted that today about 2 thousand railway workers work at the company. More than 141 thousand tons of ore per day are transported by railways with a length of more than 317 kilometers, which are on the balance sheet of the company. More than 60 percent of the volume of ore transportation at the enterprise falls on rail transport.
As noted, in November of last year, the company purchased railway construction equipment for $ 5.5 million and in a short time without any outside help, for the first time in the history of NMMC, a 35-kilometer railway line connecting the Tamdybulak deposit with Hydrometallurgical plant-2 was built by the company’s specialists.
Along with the development of the Balpantau and Tamdybulak deposits, new quarries, the construction of a railway and other facilities, new work places will be created in Tamdy district. In particular, 442 work places have been created within the framework of the project for the development of the Balpantau deposit, and mainly youth of Tamdy have been hired.
