NASA releases satellite image of Muruntau gold mine
NASA Earth Observatory website published a natural color image of the Muruntau gold mine, taken by the Operational Land Imager space satellite.
Recall that Kitco (Canada) reported the world’s top 10 largest gold mines in 2021.
According to this list, Muruntau mine became the world leader in gold mining in 2021. Last year, Muruntau mine produced more than 2 million ounces of gold. The resources of the mine are estimated at more than 150 million ounces. Muruntau is likely to retain the title of the world’s largest gold mine in the near future.
